Here is a quick interview with Allyson where we talked about a variety of topics, from the company to HCM & HR industry & few others.

Joanne: Tell me a little about how the company began and what was the motivation of the founders?  What problem in the marketplace did they want to solve?

Allyson: The founders of PeopleGuru wanted to develop and fully support a single Human Capital Management application that was specifically designed to handle the unique requirements of mid-market organizations.

Joanne: Can you describe the idea of your product as if I knew nothing about it or the market?

Allyson: PeopleGuru HCM is next generation human capital management software that manages every stage of the employee lifecycle. Everything from HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Labor, and Talent Management can be managed through our single HCM application. Our solution automates processes so that HR can focus on more strategic initiatives like- building a strong company culture, creating new benefit plans, and personalizing onboarding.

Joanne: What do you feel are some of the differences between your product and your competitors?  Where do your customers see the most value of these features?

Allyson: PeopleGuru HCM is a true single HCM application with one database. We own and develop every part of our software with absolutely no third-party licenses or modules.

Our solution is a highly configurable and adaptable platform designed to meet client requirements. We control end-user experience.

Our Guru team directly implements and supports all functions of our software. Our clients appreciate having one dedicated Strategic Account Guru as opposed to calling into a large service center.

We deliver tremendous functionality at affordable price points.

Joanne: What are some of the feedback you are hearing from your customers?

Allyson: Our clients want a user-friendly, single sign-on application that streamlines processes and eliminates administrative work for HR. HR leaders want a seat at the executive table, and they need the tools to get there.

Joanne: Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Allyson: I’m originally from the suburbs of Chicago.

I graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.S in Marketing. Currently live in Tampa, Florida and have been working as the Marketing Guru at PeopleGuru for about a year and a half.

Joanne: What got you interested in working for your company when you first started? What have you learned along the way?

Allyson: Technology is a booming industry- especially in Tampa. I was interested in working at PeopleGuru because of the growth opportunity, new innovative technology, and the people.

I have learned a lot during my time at PeopleGuru and continue to learn at least one new thing a day. In general, I have learned a lot about the HCM industry, mid-market challenges, the importance of the HR department, and how the right software can really take organizations to the next level.

Joanne: What does your workspace/company culture look like?

Allyson: Our company culture is very unique. All of our Gurus are fully committed to serving our clients and providing them with only the best. Collaboration and supporting each other is critical, and we understand that our clients’ success is dependent on our success.

We rely on one another for expertise. We help each other on the tough days, but also celebrate our successes. We have found that teamwork is the key to our success and no Guru is alone.
